With fifteen years of experience in political and nonprofit campaigns, program and policy development & evaluation, fundraising, grassroots organizing, and advocacy, Katie brings a well-rounded approach to her work at CVSC.
Katie’s work with food producing farmers ignited her passion for conservation. Having experienced life as a WWOOFer and an alumna of Clemson’s New and Beginning Farmer Program, she deeply admires the generosity and entrepreneurial spirit of those who work the land.
Holding a Master’s degree in Public Administration specializing in Environmental Law, Management, and Policy, she is passionate about connecting genuine community voices with decision makers. Her mission is to ensure that the concerns and aspirations of South Carolinians are not only heard but also acted upon.
Throughout her career, she’s made meaningful impacts such as managing a winning statewide political campaign, raising almost half a million dollars during one fundraising season for the United Way, and in local community engagement by working to establish the City of Columbia’s Food Policy Council. Katie has served on several statewide councils and boards, was elected to serve as State Chair for SC Young Republicans, is a member of Leadership Columbia Class of 2024, and volunteers with Beginnings SC.
Katie, her husband Will, and their daughter Ava enjoy hiking and checking out new breweries. They live in Columbia with their two dogs.
